As creative and design lead at some of the biggest brands in publishing I've worked closely with the best photographers, editors, artists and designers in the business. Together, we've published hundreds of issues, surprised our fans with successful and distinctive redesigns, distributed our content in new and innovative ways and met the challenges of an ever evolving industry. We have received recognition for our work from the American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME), the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) and others including the National Magazine Award for General Excellence (Field & Stream) in 2009.

Money

2011-2014: Oversee all design, photography, illustration, data viz. and layout for the monthly print and digital editions of the magazine (including cover, features, FOB & BOB design) • Launch the tablet editions in 2011 • Total magazine redesign 2011 • Manage staff of 8 designers and photo editors • Manage brand Extensions, prototype exercises and development groups.

2009-2011: Worked with the Design Director to oversee the design and art direction of the weekly magazine (including newsstand covers, special issues, books, People Country, and other spin-off franchises) • Launch and constant evolution of tablet editions • Manage staff of 20 designers and production artists • Brand Extensions, Prototype work, Development Groups • Tablet consultant for several other Time Inc titles.

Prototypes

Content and design development exercises for Popular Mechanics and Fortune.  "Rapid prototype" exercises and longer term strategic development. Final deliverables include fully formed templates, visual systems, and brand guidelines.
